After a nice dive in cool waters, surfacing to find your fellow scuba buddies cruising away on the boat is never something you want to see, but experienced divers will tell you that it is only a matter of time before it happens to you. So, when it does, you need to be prepared.
The Akona Safety Tube can easily be taken on all of your dives. Rolled up, the tube is a mere 2” x 5”, and it conveniently stores in the included nylon carry bag. Stow the tube away in one of your BCD pockets, or hang it from one of your rings using the bag’s attachable snap clip.
When you eventually do need to use your surface signal, all you have to do is pull it out of the bag and use the inflation tube’s mouthpiece to blow a couple of deep breaths into it. This will fully inflate your Akona Safety Tube to 2.7” x 40”, making it about as big around as a grapefruit, but over 3 feet long.
So it doesn’t float away, you can clip the inflated Safety Tube to your BCD using the large grommet on its end. The combination of its size and vivid neon yellow coloring will be sure to alert the crew to your disappearance.
If you need to signal at night, just hold a flashlight to the tube and it will light up like a jack-o-lantern.
